Reverse Mounted Subs

Okay so I'm going with 4 12's and a false floor set up... There's 2 boxes for 2 12's.... Fiberglass on top, and then a MDF box at the bottom, not much airspace... They're pushing the MA Audio 700 watt 350 RMS subs, I had them mounted regularly and it sounded okay, but then after I took them out, I got lazy and decided to reverse, inverse or whatever mount them and it sounds really good... Are there any disadvantages to this? Because those subs actually look decent on the back so I may keep them like that...

only rule is reverse the connections on the sub if you invert the subs, otherwise they will be out of phase for that type of install.

Inversed meaning.....ur putting the subs in upside down? so that the magnet is outside the box? Pics would be great smile.gif

lol it says reverse in the title... Therefore, opposite of regular... Therefore yes with the magnet outside of the box laugh.gif

i allways thought that reversing subs just didnt sound right to me. idk they just dont hit right that way.

^

did you swap the wiring like i posted? otherwise they will be out of phase, and sound "off" like you said.
