Remote Keyless Entry Question
solo-baric,
Why act so snotty about what I said? It is all true. First of all, I have bought DEI replacements on ebay several times for $5 + $3 shipping. They're used, but they work and look like new. Second, the programming steps for the one in the 01 Tib are listed in WebTech, so it will cost nothing to program it. Third, no, I don't have to pull it out to use the replacement from Hyundai. As I said, the steps to program it are in the TSB's from Hyundai at WebTech. So all I have to do is order it. Try not to be so quick to point out all that is wrong with a post.

ok #1 your talking abou ebay parts. not "new" parts. Second you can try the programer from webtech. But it will not work. You need the code for your alarm when you buy an aftermarket replacement transmitter. they do not come preprogramed. go to the dei sight or look on ebay for the programer. they aren't cheap. the programing you are thinking of isn't listed on the web site. I just looked it up. It about programing features to buttons. not the HF frequency and codes that the reciever picks up. do you still have the remote that came with the car? if you do go here to see what matches with it.

look arround and see what you come up with. I don't know if you'll also have to get the 998t but if you do it is $100. plus the ones on ebay don't come with instructions.

PROBLEM SOLVED!!! Thanks to everyone who offered help, but mostly you were making it too hard. All I needed to know was what model DEI remote came with the 01 Tiburon. I finally got this info, it was a 2 button FCC ID EZSDEI491. My son in law has a Viper that uses that remote. I borrowed it, followed the steps on Webtech, and IT WORKED!!!
Thanks again for the help.
