This isn't performance exactly, but I didn't know anywhere else to put it. I need someone who has a 2001 Tiburon with "Factory" RKE to let me know what kind of remote they have and the numbers on the back. From reading the TSB's I see that in 01 the Tiburon had a DEI system. Mine has it, but I didn't get any remotes when I bought it recently. Help sure appreciated!!
Thanks,
Mike

moved to interior and ice, as electronics of this type are generally sold by people who specialize in In Car Entertainment.
My tib did not come with an alarm/RKE, so I personally cant help you with that.

REDZMAN:
I can't find anything in the shop manual, But in the TSB's, under sect 90, Electrical, there are several entries relating to "factory" RKE. Mine has this RKE with NO alarm, just remote locks. But that's all I really want. My problem is I recently bought this car wrecked and am rebuilding it. I received no remotes. I have the Hyundai part number so I could buy a remote there for some ridiculous price, but since it is a DEI system (probably a Hornet or Viper, if I can figure out which remote it uses, I can buy it for about $5. From the TSB, I have the programming steps and it is easy to do. Does this help any?

Does yours have an alarm system also, or just the remote locks? I bet it is a "factory" system. The key number I needed was the 471T which is the remote part number. If I can borrow one from someone I will try to program it.
Thank you guys a lot and anyone else who can shed some light on this.
Mike

KayJai,
I was typing my response while you posted. I have the original window sticker from my car, and I think you're right about dealer installed, but it is the Hyundai approved DEI system, since it is described in great detail in the TSB. Again, this would be simple if I wasn't so cheap. I would call up Hyundai and order part no. 00265-1102. But it is very expensive for a $5 remote.

glad you think they are $5 remotes. just check replacement from dei on any remote. see here is the deal you can buy any dei remote you want. the problem is you have to find someone with the coder to put the code in the remote for you. Therefor you have to pull it out just to get the id number off of it so that even a new replacemnt from Hyundai will even work. Enjoy.
