Escort Solo S2 is what I use, but it's on batteries and it's minimally powerful on them. But you can always wire it in through the roof and have solar panels power it like the ones i'm making smile.gif

I'd have to say I'd buy a Escort 9500i or a Cobra XRS R9G if I were to buy another radar detector. They mix GPS with radar detection and allows you to program false alerts into your radar detector. The XRS R9G is a rear view mirror replacement. It looks pretty badass. Adds alot to the car.

I had a cheap Cobra that worked pretty darn well, Selina had one that was better, Escort 2500, i believe was the name. Gave really early alerts, looked nice too, but Bryan lost the special cord to it and now we cant use it, thing wasn't cheap either.
Besides, I've grown up since my first two tickets (one for speeding), and realized i was on the thin edge with my insurance company, so i always drive the acceptable amount over the speed limit (3-5mph) and never have to worry about cops.
When im driving my tib i can still enjoy the power without speeding...
