I just drove and checked mine, works fine, even at 104 degrees. So I guess I was lied to about it.

the cruise control switch and the defroster switch are the same exact thing internally. the ONLY difference between the two is that the defroster switch will not stay pushed in when pressed. this is because you wouldnt always want the thing pressed in, whereas some people may want to always have the cruise control button pushed in, especially since any substantial power is not used with the cruise switch pressed in UNTIL you set the cruise control speed.

the harnesses for the wires for the cruise and defrost are exactly the same too, except for color. this means that if you only have the defroster and you have the wiring for cruise plugged into the defroster switch(with the cruise wiring unplugged) you will get nothing but a light when it is pushed in.

in my rd2, i always remembered the correct harness with Blue goes on Bottom.

that being said, i am 99.999% sure something is plugged into something else wrong.

its not a sensor in the switch either, its in the ETACS. after a certain amount of time, it will automatically stop warming for a couple minutes to prevent busting the heating filaments.

So what do you guys recommend. I have the defroster switch with the blue plug like it's suppose to be with correct? And it still doesn't work.

No doode, Blue goes to the BOTTOM/Cruise switch.

Try plugging in the other one, actually starting the car, then trying it.

Okay UPDATE :

It's not the blue switch it's the creamy colored one. I checked all the wires everything is good. It gives signal to that alarm timing thing under the radio to the left but no signal comes out of it. So I took that off and currently opening up to see wtf is going on.

*MERGED*
DP!! nana.gif

I opened up the timing device located underneath the radio and then counldn't find a problem with anything inside. I put it back in the car then the my defrogger button just started working. Confusing situation. But atleast my defogger works now lmao.gif
