Rear Window Defogger
what would the plugs or fuses have to do with the switch itself, the guy is saying that the button is not staying pushed in when he pushes it in. I had the same problem in my tibby...even the new switch I got from TC did the same thing so I have to assume this is pretty common thing with the tibby defroster switches. You need a replacement switch bro.
same thing happened to me, first time i went behind my dash the defroster button just stopped working...if i hold it in for a while it works but its not like i can push it, let go and let the light stay on like it did before. So i have the same problem and i dont have CC either and i fiddled with it for a long time and i know the buttons are in teh right place cause of the fact that i can hold it and it will work, its just like the switch went bad or something and the trigger that keeps it on no longer catches or something, so !ironh19! are you saying we need to go to the dealer for a replacement switch??
thanks
thanks
i have the same problem but just have not been bothered fixing it i held it in for a while and it never worked at all
the light came on but as soon as i depressed it it went off
perhaps they had a self distruct command to stop working in 05, lol
well i 'll see if i can get to the bottom of it, the dealer asked for a stupid amount of dosh when i asked for a new one..

You guys lol we just told you what the problem was
Take apart the dash and switch the plugs behind the switches. You put them back in wrong. The cruise control plug was put into the defroster switch and vice-versa. This is a confirmed fix because I just did it 2 days ago.
I accidentally plugged the plugs into the wrong switches and I'm having the problems you guys are talking about. So take apart the dash again and flip flop them.

It has to do with the plugs because you guys plugged the WRONG plug into the switch. The defrost button DOESN'T STAY DEPRESSED, the light should stay on though. You have it plugged into the WRONG ONE. I did the same thing and swapped them, then it works fine. Doesn't matter if you don't have cruise, you plugged in the WRONG SWITCH.
LOL
The light still lights up because they use the same wiring for lighting.
