The back seats will never fold flatter then they do to begin with, and it has nothing to do with the hinge. The seat sits on sheet metal, and then the seat bottom and seat back stack on top of that to be taller then the trunk. If you want a flatter platform to sleep on, remove the seat backs on trips when you'll need to sleep there. You need a ratchet and one socket to do it.
