could someone with an rd2 tell me the exact diameter of the silver ring that goes around the manual shifter. im gonna try to custom fit it to my 1st gen. shifter and i want to make sure it will fit the way i want before i buy one to try it. thanks

ya know, im in such a good mood today, and its so gorgeous outside that i went and measured it for you. 4 inches inner diameter, and 5 inches outer diameter. EXACTLY.

Mine is actually a piece for the Mustang Mullet, I mean Bullet. It required a fair amount of work to get it to sit exactly right on the shift surround as it was larger in every measurement than the stock opening. I actually wound up sanding the raised "lip" that goes around the surround flat for about three quarters of the way around it. Then I had to repaint it the Anodized Bronze colour that is my dash. Thankgoodness home Depot had a paint that was an almost perfect match.
