Anyone have any suggestions for a good cheap radar detector? im going for around maybe $100-$150 for a good one.

I can sell you my old Whistler. It is PHENOMENAL at picking up radar, but has no laser capability. It's a few years old, but it's a great unit but it's basic. I can get the model name if you're interested. Did a side by side test with the V1 in the same car and it picked up radar from over twice the distance every time. But, like I said no laser at all.

I went to either newegg.com or neweggmall.com, can't remember, and got a cobra on sale for $19 (It was on sale). Compared to others it's just as good and "invisible", I have yet to get clocked w/o plenty of notice, and as far as I can tell no cops have detected it yet (they're illegal here).

I'd go with a Cobra. I trust companies who have been detecting RF radiation for longer.

The V1 was invented by one of the head guys at Escort after he went off on his own. I have one and never leave home without it.
