Questions about idiot lights in instrument cluster
Eh, ive done soo much electronics work. Its called its too freaking cold outside to work... Try routing over 100 leds behind the guage faces and around the stepper motors. I used individual resistors (cause they came with the leds and I was too cheap to buy new / too busy to calculate new resistance levels for serial leds). Also, I was in a hurry so there was not much testing / debugging (refer back to its freakin cold outside). smile.gif
So I am assuming you know what its like to rush tongue.gif
My claim to fame so far with electronics was making a computer controlled 'brain box' to control 5 event triggers and 12 outputs. The hardware utilized the parallel port of a computer for the timing functions. I had 3 of those bad boys running all the pneumatic and special effects I created for a local haunted house. Too bad I dont help them anymore, I would love to have my boxes back 02.gif.
A note to all: If you make something cool, dont let the people who's using it re-imburse you for the materials 02.gif

Ohh, no... I am assuming you are gathering this from the 'freakin cold outside' statement. No, I did the work in a work shed (outside with a small 1500 watt space heater). I coulda did it inside, but I didnt want the dust from shaving the leds all over the place.
I have a second cluster that I had in my car when I was working on my original.
