Default Passport 9500i vs. Valentine One

Looking to get some opinions on these 2 radar detectors. I know nothing will help you against instant on or laser but Im looking for something a little better than the crappy cobra radar detector I have now. So I dont mind spending the extra money on something thats good. I guess Im searching for an unbiased review of either if anyone here has ever used one of them in real world driving.

My dad just got a V1 a couple of months ago and loves it so far. He spent alot of money for it but I guess its saved him from getting a ticket a couple of times already.

I have driven from Phoenix to Dallas with both and I really liked the V1 butboth worked really well. The v1 though tells where the radar is coming from by arrows on the detector.
