Yes 6tha paint will stay if you paint plastic or metal. But if you leave the cloth on and do not remove it the paint won't stick that good to fabric. Sorry for the confusion.

If you are talking about the heater vent you must remove the whole door panel then on the back of the panel you will see a black tube that conects from the hole on the inside of the panel and the duct itself. Their will be 4 screws holding it in remove them and it's out so paint away .

Yeap that is what i meant tne heater ball looking vent in the door. Like I said the only way to get at it is to take the door of cause it is locked into the plastic tube. If you wanted to eliminate doing this you could tape off some of the door and make like a funnel that goes around the vent and paint it but 2 problems first you will have to paint the face of the vent first let it dry the push it down paint the top and let it dry and then push it up paint and let it dry because if you don't whan you angle the vent you will see the other color, secong if it is windy out you will have an a** load of over spray. So if you have the time take the door off it's a pain but will pay off in the end I just thought I would give you another suggestion to think about and what will or might happen if you do it this way. Post a pic I would like to see. Happy painting.
