the dummie light is a good thing to have, you're not looking at your gauge al lthe time while driving and a red light will catch more your attention then a little needle insidea gauge
a t fitting will cost you 3-5$ so not a big deal
or you could install the gauge in the dummie light location and install the dummie light on the cylinder head
