Majik: it is charging, it just creates a hum when the audio is connected to the amps and the tablet is charging.. The hum/hiss happens with either power from the cig lighter OR power from an ac outlet from the house. I did this to rule out electrical noise from the vehicle.
Tom: I just ordered a noise filter that seems quite popular with the iPhone crowd who all seem to share this problem when the phone is plugged into their stereo AND they are charging their phone. Should be here in a few days and we shall see if it cleans things up a bit..

Just making sure it was ruled out, was the audio cord ruled out? Some of my lower quality cords have much worse sound quality and some have a loose connection. Just making sure you thought of all options.

^^Troubleshooting is always better with two heads rather than 1! Yep, audio chord ruled out. Sound is freakin amazing when I do not have the tablet charging at the same time it is playing music. I also purchased all connectors New and they are high quality. Very nice stuff IMO.
I'm hoping this filter I purchased does the trick. Will find out soon enough....

Same in my Tib (all custom stereo), and in my wife's Fit which actually has an audio input from the factory.
Again using android phones instead of tablets, but still basically the same.

I get interference if I turn it up with nothing playing but if I'm playing music you can't hear extra noise, in the Tiburon.
When my laptop is plugged into my power inverter and playing a video/music it has a loud interference noise but stopped when I unplugged it. That was in the GTI, haven't tried it in the tib.

my HTC Evo 4G, HTC Evo 4G LTE, and Motorola Photon don't have these issues when charging USB and playing in car via Aux.
I hope a swap fixes problems. Test it in the store to duplicate it.

I would never thought of putting a Tablet, a great idea though since it would be a better interface compare to just a in dash gps.
After you post up the pics, could you tell us how you did it and was it more difficult to do it or not?
Thanks

Its in. Havent had time to post official pics quite yet. Will do hopefully this week.
Oh, and the filter did squat. The interference is coming from the tablet itself. Going to try a pre amp boost app and turn the gains down on my amps and see if that will clear out some of the noise when the tablet is charging. Not a huge deal, I can charge it while parked in the garage and unplug it when I am out and about. It has plenty of juice to go all day long without needing a sip of juice.

I wrapped my audio cable in aluminum shielding I grabbed from Northern Tool + Equipment. Minimized the interference but did not take it away.
