I was going to do a DIY for this, and started, but ran into some other unrelated problems and got sidetracked. If you want I can still explain to anyone that wants to mount switches similarly in their door.

I've been wanting to put my radiator fans on a switch for quite some time and finally got around to doing it.

I used nothing but a spare in-dash radio mounting kit I had lying around and the wires and connectors necessary.

When both switches are up, the red switch lights up red and the blue light is on....this means that the fans are on continuously until I turn them off...

When the red switch is up and lit and the black is down, the fans run off the thermostat only going on when necessary, and this turns the blue light on while running.

After doing this, I don't think I will ever run electric components of any sort into the door ever again because it was a royal PITA... please let me know what you think.

These are mine, nicely hidden in the center console, nice and clean and no one sees it,... so you can use it for NAWZ lmao.gif if you really wanted to

Right now, the left 2 controls my interior neons and the 2 on the right are free, they were for another project, but I changed my mind.
That's why I had that other center console for sale smile.gif

Those switches are awesome, great work. I have to do quite a bit of rewiring and now I have a new idea. I won't try to copy you to bad. I gotta keep my own personal touch on things.

KayJai, I was actually going to do something similar to that, but I prefer toggle's to rocker switches because you just drill a hole and don't have to cut out a little rectangle haha...but if I used toggles in that spot, it would become somewhat of an obstruction in the compartment. That looks really good though.

Oh,... nothing,... wink1.gif

And thanks guys, had gotten that idea from an OLD SCHOOL member, he has since sold his tib a few years back, still see it running around, not treated any where close to what it was treated like by the original owner.
And I'm not sure why the pix aren't working,...
I'll see if I can fix,..

EDIT: Found out my local ISP's email system took a dump, which is also tied up to user webspace,... so that should be back up later today probably,..

Go to www.mouser.com instead of radio shack... you can find some rocker switches there that drill in place. They're also about 1/3 the price of radio shack as well. Trust me, if it's a project that you're "going to do" find parts at mouser. User radio shack for the "i forgot that" stuff.

you can pick up one of these bad boys for $.99
