nice skin spawn.

and as he said ericy, front end shouldn't cost you a dime. you can get some REALLY nice and feature rich skins on mp3car.com(even more so than centrafuse). my favorite for road runner is lsx void. it's pretty heavy, but the carpc can handle it so i don't care.

everyone says onboard sound is crappy with the via epia's but mine sounds fine. tiny bit of static at low volumes, but i generally listen to my music loud. it has a smart 5.1 feature which turns the rear out/in/mic ports to 5.1 outs. you can use the cd-in headers and front audio headers for ins if you need them. look into hd radio, the directed hdradio units are cheap and there are tons of how-tos and support for them in road runner skins. xm radio for the other input.

that is probably waaayyyyy more than you need ericy. search the classifieds on mp3car for some good package deals. i pretty much think everyone should go with:

via epia motherboard(pick one that works for you)
the new led backlit 7" lilliput monitor
opus 120w power supply
whatever slot load dvd player you can find
case with dual pci risers (one for pci to 4usb the other for pci to 2 serial)
garmin 15 oem reciever(size of a match box)
glisson gps antenna
orinoco pcmia wifi card and external antenna

let me know if you need detailed help with putting one in a tiburon, i've been through the whole thing and have a lot of suggestions to offer.

Here is how my ideal setup would be:

No radio
No heater controls
Screen molded where heater controls would be
Probably two CD slots where radio would be
USB hub in dash, probably 2 just so I have it accesible
More USB in glove box or under dash , to run a small keyboard
Just need something with good sound and memory

Ive been talking to Radu and Im honestly getting more confused by the day. All the hookups and wiring it is just gets me lost everytime.

sure, but everything has to be within the 7" screen. That's small. Take a look at Tibby01's setup. He put a keyboard on/in his sunvisor.

Ill be running my megasquirt fully on the carpc. So I will need a keyboard. I want this to fully take over my dash stuff. Thats why Im so concerned about sound quality with two amps for the speakers and one for subs.

Nah, follow my plan man.

Leave the heater controls.

Get that squared dual din radio surround and a nice touch screen that fits in it.

Cut the front off of a cup holder assembly and affix it to a dvd tray system, or cut a slot in it and mount the DVD drive behind there.

^^ The only thing Mac is useful for is iPods. Mac stopped making computers and they've switched over to using IBM compatible hardware. They're basically using windows based computers with proprietary software which has much less support across the industry. If you happen to get a mac, format the HD and get windows installed.

Great idea with the cup holder Z.

check out this bad mammajama. It's called a Fit-Pc, and it will hook up to your car battery.
