There was a company based out of Canada that sold sound damping/vibration damping materials. They were basically similar to Dynamat product, only cheaper.
Does anyone have that link handy?
Heck, as long as I'm asking, folks, post up any links to companies that make sound damping prodcuts.

at 3 lbs per sqare foot, that stuff is WAY TO HEAVY to use in automotive applications, unless you plan on having only a DB drag car rather than a REAL drag car....

Actually the 1/64" stuff is only 1lb/sqft, but that's still *heavy*.at 3 lbs per sqare foot, that stuff is WAY TO HEAVY to use in automotive applications, unless you plan on having only a DB drag car rather than a REAL drag car....
Line a 2x3x5 box with it and it weighs 62 pounds! The heavier stuff would weigh 186 pounds.
Only problem is, density helps greatly with sound deadening...
At least your car would be an effective shield against the X-ray flash of a nuclear explosion smile.gif The stuff is sheet lead, if you read further... they even say it's X-ray shielding rated.

Cascade Audio Engineering acoustic control products are designed to tackle your worst noise nightmare. The added benefit to your car audio system performance is stunning. Your music takes on new levels of clarity and detail. By reducing the total noise floor in the vehicle your audio system does not have to play as loud to be heard as clear. Costly amplifier and speaker power is not wasted by vibrating panels. Don’t accept cheap substitutes! Use what the pros use - Cascade Audio Engineering! VB-1 is a mineral loaded, water-based visco-elastic damping compound that is non-toxic and environmentally safe. It’s specifically designed for vibration damping of large panels, curved and/or uneven surfaces. It effectively damps vibration in metal, plastic, fiberglass and wood over a wide frequency range. VB-1 offers twice the damping ability over asphalt based damping materials. VB-1 is a paste-like texture and not a liquid and must be applied by hand or with a spreader much like you would use for clay or puddy. Once cured, VB-1 can be sanded and/or painted. 5 gallon bucket covers approximately 100 sq. ft. Â

Before the first wire is run or the first speaker is mounted, Noise Blocker is a must. Noise Blocker is a damping material which features space-age technology and is designed to help eliminate vibration and resonances in structures make of sheet metal, aluminum, composite materials, and hard plastic. Also great for inside subwoofer enclosures! 20.29 fl. oz. (600 ml) can covers roughly 4 sq. ft. depending on coat thickness. Â

I'm looking for roll on or spread on coatings. Nothing spray based. (simply because I want a thicker coating, and I don't want to have to pay for an arosol propelant).
