get you some sound deadening material like dynamat style material and cover the affected areas, rattles gone.

I just got done covering the entire interior in fatmat (search ebay for it) and it definitely made a difference.

dynamat is super expensive, look on ebay for fatmat or edead, it will cure your problems.

I also read very good things about raammat if you are doing serious deadening: http://www.raamaudio.com
Also, if you choose edead, choose the thicker one (V1SE^2), it's way better.

By the way, UrSONvs, did you actually use the deadening mats on the back of the plastic panels (where the back speakers are mounted)?

I covered all the metal areas everywhere. I have taken pics but have not dll'ed from my digi yet. I've got plenty fatmat left so if the plastic panels need it, they will get it. I won't cover them completely though, just a couple 2"x2" pieces every foot or so.

2001 tib, you sure you don't have any missing bolts or busted plastic tabs?

i have a couple of sheets of "stinger: roadkill" sound deadening mat listed in my for sale thread-... feel free to shoot me ANY offer.

but check to see if you have loose screws for the speakers first!

i pulled my rear interior apart to find the driver's side 6x9 was not fastened to the car at all-... thanks previous owner!

Oh, here's a thing: the stock speakers had a layer of dampening material that went between the speakers and the plastic panel. My aftermarket speakers did not. I installed them without it, and the panels rattled like hell. I carved out pieces out of sound deadening mats (edead v1se^2) and put it between the speakers and the panels. It reduced the rattle a lot.

Definitely do this if your speakers touch the panel directly.

Other than that, sticking sound deadening material behind the panels and on the back of the plastic panels should help. Putting it behind the panels helps because less vibration is reflected back onto the panel, and putting it on the panel helps because it increases the mass of the panel (making it harder for vibrations to affect it).
