Thanks guys, it wasn't difficult to make, just take some abs plastic and a heat gun, then just form it to the underside of the dash. Right now it IS bright as hell at night with everything on, I turned the display off my my Alpine to reduce some of the glare, it only says AUX right now anyways cause I'm always listing to the satillite. With my old setup I could rotate the ashtray and hide the safc, but the angle that the safc had to be on in order to get it to close was to extreme and I couldn't see it very well in the daytime.

 

Pretty cool.Looks like you did a good job.In my opinion,though, it would have looked better with non-textured plastic.Like the kind they sell at select products.

 

he could have just used the back of the abs sheet. normally, both sides arent textured.

 

yea, i really like that set up. Im definatlly going to do that too just dont know if im going to have it sit there or set it up so it rotates. Im thinking that that safc 2 may be 2 bright so putting it inside the tray may work better? Just my opinion.

I'd Love to see everyone else's set ups.

 

Well, I did this on one of the many slow days at work, so thats all the abs we had laying around. Also, the back of the sheets we had actually have patterns scored out on them, so the side I used is the better of the two. I'll be ordering some stuff from select products once I get my amp and sub, so maybe I'll get something better next spring. It only took a few minutes to make and was real simple.

 

those are the best mods... simple and cheap.. Just requiring a bit of work on your part. I think it looks good.. but definatly not a mod for somebody who lives in an area with a high theft rate.

 

^^^ True True, it's been broken into once before, and I do worry about it every night. Most of the thiefs in the area are ghetto thugs that just want stereos and wouldn't have an idea what it is. Thats also why I got the 2 way alarm and remote start, not completely effective, but it's a deterrent and gives me a false sense of security.

 

Yeah I'm sure the alarm is def a deterrent. But that looks all cool looking and shiny!! LOL

 

i cant actually tell how big the safc is. Will it actually fit into our ash tray after some work is done? I like the idea of being able to open/close the tray and having the safc inside. Even though i'll probably always leave it open. I just think thats a good idea so when you leave your car you can close the tray and no one knows that you have it.

*Edit. Also where your cup holder tray was it looks like you removed that. Does anyone know if there is any mod or basically anything else that we can replace it with?
