mounting amp in trunk
i want to know how u guys mounted ur amps in the back. i dont really wanna screw them down into the floor if i dont have to so if any one has anything creative. post pics or describe. Note: i like to be different so ill probably change it in some way or another
You can mount it to your backseat, or right on ur sub box make sure u got an alarm system u dont want theifs takin out ur box and having everything already screwed on it. its a jackpot and a target
I have a custom fiberglass enclosure in the trunk and my 2 amp's have there own little display placement.

I have mine mounted to the back of the left half of the rear seat. The amp I'm using looks awesome, so I felt I did not need to do anything too custom for it to look good.
Two things here:
(1)If at all possible, DO NOT mount the amp(s) horizontally.Especially if they are hi power.Amplifiers dissipate heat best if they are mounted vertically.
(2)If you do mount to the rear seat back, be aware of the fact that the metal in the seat pan is chassis ground. The amplifier WILL become part of a ground loop and allow noise into the system.Even if you leave the carpet on the back of the seat, the amp will become radiated via your mounting screws. The best way to bypass this is to take the seat apart, cut out a chunck of the metal, and replace it with a piece of particle board or MDF.That way, no part of the amp is in contact with chassis ground. You will be totally isolated at that point.
