Ssyask >> Cool shop you got there. I just might have to come to you for my LED and Cathode needs. I'll just have to try to acutally save money before I can spend it. You know how it is when cash burn holes in your pockets. lol...

I have checked out the DIY's here. Actually, they're partly why I'm planning out my lighting with LED's and what not. However, it's all in the planning stages now. I'm not going to make the same mistakes I made with my storm this time with my tibby. No way, Jose!! lol... thanks. keep us updated on the store Ssyask. I'm sure you'll be "booming" in no time.

"Ask and you shall recieve." Now, I'm not totally sure of what direction to go... "Oh, my head is spinning!!!" lmao... Anyway, I'm going to have to seriously map out this lighting thing. It's ok tho. I want to do a full map before I do anything anyway.

I have to admit tho, this LED and cathode stuff is far cheaper than I expected. "I say 'No, mamm!!' I shalln't be emptied so easilly," exclaimed the shallow wallet.

ssysak, i need a 12-18" black cold cathode. i already have the ballast. look into that for your shop, i'd buy 1.

calmb4dastorm13: If you're looking to make replacement bulbs, i think i have an idea for you. this is my plan when i get some time to mess around with it. I'm going to

shave down 5MM LEDs on the sides so more fit in the same area

add some resistors.

Then using a burnable CD as a mounting surface, cut 3 rows of holes in it with a dremmel and shape it to the application

glue the LEDs in place

soldier leads

Add wires for hooking into screws behind OEM mounting brackets.

The other option is surface mounts. You drill a hole, put in a surface mount, and stick the LED in from the other side. You can get them at radio shack for like $1 per 5 for 5MM LEDs. They're pretty handy for glowing speakers, doors and panels, and floorboards, but worthless if you need a whole bunch of LEDs in a small space like bulb replacement.

under hood is a good idea, but you need to come up with a way to make it 'safe'. you may be able to fabricate something out of a headlight from wallmart or something.

keep an eye out for fake LED tubes which are actually like mini-mag light bulbs. They're made from incandescants and use up a heckuvalot more power then a LED tube.

drivingtibnaked (i'd ask, but I don't think I really want to know. lol) >>> I like the idea. I was just thinking earlier today about using a couple LED's under the hood in a way that will give me just enough lihgt to see what I'm doing under the hood without a flash light or a work light. The positioning and the wiring is going to be the hard part, tho. (hense this forum topic)

As far as the trunk >> I think I might put a couple on the back of the seats and on the hatch itsself. I'm one of those that like fuctionality with my visual mods.

I'm trying to think of a way to clean up the dome light and replace it with some LED's. How? I don't know yet.

I've got to first take some pictures of the areas where I'm putting all the "mood' lighting. Then I'll be mapping out the positioning with the LED's. What might held is a way to wire up an LED to test out my locations and what-not.

Anyway, I'm over brain storming now. Thanks drivingtibnaked.
