To quote Tom OTEC.

"Dude, your system is raw, ugly and downright function..
That said, it's F@CKING loud, fitted very well in the space confines and sounds AMAZING"

TBH i'ts not there for show. I dont need to open the trunk to turn heads from 1/4 of a mile away, all I need to do is wind up the active gains and crank the volume. The system is SO loud that when Tom and I had a sound off the other night I could feel my chest being slammed about 60 feet away from my car.

I have top quality parts (the best as far as Im concerned) and lots of it too, nothing was fitted for looks it's all out function and volume with astounding accuracy and quality.

One of my amps can do 1/4 ohm at around the 1000 watt mark, is 14 years old and they dont make em like that anymore.

the other one is 12 years old and can do 1ohm stable at around 600 watts, the bass amp is all out power from audiobahn (cos hey, bass isnt subtle)

Front stage is 4 speakers from Clif, and the back is audiobahn 6x9s, every part of the system is powered from it's own amp that can all be controlled completely by the fusion.

Im going to make a video of it in action playing Rob Zombie's living dead girl and youll see what I mean, you can feel the asphalt move from about 300 feet away.

I can attest to how loud that system is... it's nucking futs.

As for putting the DVD into the glovebox lid.. I would have put it INSIDE the glovebox, accessable only when the lid was open.

We also need to rip out your backseats and make it into a REAL two seater.

i would have installed it either
A. INSIDE the glove box
B. under or behind the pass seat.

i really dont like the placement or the color scheme at all. you could have done a cleaner job if all you wanted was for it to be in arms reach of you.

really couldnt you have put them both in the center console and moved your EQ to under the seat/in the glove box? i mean it is smaller and you really dont need to switch the settings so often that it needs the second dash spot.

IMO you could have done this much much much cleaner. dont be in such a hurry to cut your car apart next time, we would have givin you some better ideas on location then cutting apart your car and leaving the dvd player just kinda there.

It wouldnt fit in the glove. I tried that, hacked apart the innards but when I mounted it and tried to put the door back in? no way Jose.

So I had to remove everything from the back of it (the glove shell, metal frame and so on) and literally force it in there as it is. The airbag unit has a metal lump below it and there was no other way this was going to work.

Measure 3 times, cut once...

As for putting it under the seat? not an option. My race seats go all the way down to the floor with about half an inch of clearance under the front (the sliders are bolted into the front bar) so that wasnt an option either unfortunately..

The only time I need to reach over to it is to change a disc. And I have a remote with a sensor on the steering column so I can control it without moving..

As for mounting it with the head unit and moving the active? not an option. I use that active more than the dvd player lol.. Every time I listen to music outside work (smoke break, food) I listen to music and have been written up before for making the aluminum roof rattle whilst people were on the phones. Even at low volume it drops so deep that it makes everything within a couple of hundred feet vibrate lol.. So I use the control on there (the sub volume gain) to turn the bass off when Im sitting outside. And also when Im around my apartment complex because I dont want anyone knowing whats in the trunk.

At 33 years old I do think about everything before comitting to doing something. Years ago I would have just tried my first plan without thinking it through and making a mess.. I still have to find somewhere for the gamecube, but I think I have that covered smile.gif
