More Dash Work
I recently got a new head unit, it's $ony but it cost me nothing. Otherwise I would run it over.
Anyway I needed to relocate the DVD somewhere clean, so I hacked the glovebox up and painted it kameleon to match my centre bits, I also painted the heater and AC knobs too.

Sorry, but the chameleon green, blue crooked H, yellow and red rat, just do NOT go together. And a headunit in your glove box? What's wrong with the one you have already??
Fugly imho. Sorry...

Strike: it's really up to personal opinion. You could have just said you don't like it.
I really don't like the rat fink, but I could see the rest of it working as long as this is a WIP and not finished. It's a couple of pretty colors, but you need to expand it so that it matches everything else. I decided on a color for my interior and went with it. I've found a few other colors which I like better, but I keep the same color because of availability and color matching.
As StrikeEagle said, it really dosn't match anything. A good aftermarket tuner will make a car look like it was supposed to come that way. I won't even hang fuzzy dice from my mirror.
If it were my car, I'd sand down the glovebox and remove the texture with 80 grit sandpaper, remove the 80 grit scratches with 200 grit, then sand to 400 and repaint. Then I'd paint the rest of the dash and doors to match.
One of the things that I keep in mind is that noone sees the work, just the final product.

Hmm. OK time to explain a few things.
#1 my stereo surround, shifter surround and heater knobs are all exactly the same, green to blue HOK kameleon.
I have blue and black seats and a black back seat and will be doing green neons all over.
Here is a pic that shows the strero surround better, this was before I did the heater knobs smile.gif

Here it is in progress out of the car smile.gif

#2. The DVD player is NOT a head unit. I used it as a standalone unit for ages because I didnt have the cash to get a good head unit. Now remember, even though I hate $ony and their car audio gear that's still a $300 unit nestled in my dash, so I can live with it smile.gif
The DVD is a seperate entity and had to be fitted somewhere, and considering my car is strictly a 2 seater with no way to access the back that was the best place. I have a remote sensor for it on the steering column so unless Im changing a disc then it's perfect there.
Only other place was in the back lol and nothing of importance ever fits the glovebox anyways, apart from my ins and reggy and I keep them hidden under the passenger seat now so it's no loss at all.

Hmm, I think if you kept the green theme all over the dash it could turn out pretty well. I'm thinking along the lines close to KustomizedTiburon here... I do like the green color, but the blue H has to go...
What all do you have in the normal head unit area? Is that some sort of equalizer? fing02.gif

Its not always green, it shifts from green to blue and everything in between.. I like the doors as they are, so theyre not getting done but I may do the cluster surround too.. It's very hard to photograph tbh because you cant see it as it should be in such tight confines.
The ratfink is the only one left on the car, the others have all gone and there will be no decals on the exterior. I have priced up a couple of Momo wheels (blue and black) and am liking them, Im also going to add green/black Momo fusion pedals.
So the interior is basically black green and blue, 3 color scheme so it's nothing out of the ordinary..
In the stock part of the dash sits a Sony head unit. It has the VFD matrix display that does all the dumb shit, Im not a huge fan but I have to admit it sounds pretty awesome. Shame its silver but ho hum lol..
Above that sits my Fusion FX45, which is a SICK unit... 5 band parametric EQ with 8 volt line driver for the sub out, aswell as a full active crossover that's on the top of it. One of the best things I got at a amazing price ($45 shipped, theyre $250) and was brand new in the box.. That sits above the head unit and the dvd player links into all of it (aswell as the radar detector, I have that wired into another aux on the head unit so I can have it REALLY loud if needs be laugh.gif
Fusion -

Now reeverting back a touch, the NESA dvd head unit isnt a stand alone unit. I used it as one but it has no bass, no treble, fader or even balance. Its supposed to be ran into a head unit but at the time I was still waiting to afford a high end alpine. Now I dont need one, Im happy with the Sony smile.gif

Make it all like that. Every piece of plastic. That would look tight as heck
