I'd prefer Pioneer. Just got UltraTibby's DEH-6700MP deck and wanted a good set of front and rear speakers for the car.

He was selling a set of 240 Watt front round speakers and 420 Watt 3 way rears. Both Pioneers. (Sorry, never found the model numbers)

Ideally, I'd like 4 way oval rears with similar spherical fronts and a pair of tweeters. Any suggestions?

Do a search. The audiobahn's I've got are very good, they sound fannytastic.

What about these?

Will they run off the head unit? or will they need an amp?

Pioneer 5 way

You are gonna need an amp with those. The nominal power is way above the max power of your head unit. They just won't sound that good without enough power. Your head unit probably puts out 50Wx4, so nominal power would probably be around 15-20W per channel. If you are going without an amp, I would make sure that the speaker's power falls in that range. It is always best to match your components in a stereo system to get the best sound.

Well then, looks like I need a good 4 channel amp, don't I?

Any recommendations for those would be welcome as well. Thanks.

I'm using those exact Pioneer speakers, they are very good for the money. However, don't pay $90 for them, you can do a lot better new on ebay. And you definitely need an amp for them.

Actually, they're only $70 at Ikesound. The TS-A1681-Rs are a good match for them up front. I've ordered from them many times, I highly recommend them. Great prices and customer service.

I agree with Hyper. Go with what you like. I personally am a fan of Infinity.
