If you replaced the turn signals with LEDs, make sure the polarity is right.

OKEY everything is working! you need the hazards plugged in for the turn signals to work. I wanted to put LED's in the blinkers like blue would have been awesome, but my patience ran out. haha, 9 yards my ass!

HOLY JESUS DTN it's perfect!!! You got the exact color too. Daaaaamn I don't know how to thank you. Friggin sweet! So everything works now!! I can put the car back together yaaay!!!

fing02.gif Good to see everything is working well for you! I was worried something might go wrong in shipping. I'm always worried about that though..

I was wondering how you got the heater control back in there. Also, why did you keep it?

Turn signal blinkers are easy. http://superbrightleds.com/tail-brake-turn.html 1157A bulbs. I know my 24 LED bulb replacements just bearly fit in the socket hole. I don't know if the 30 would be good, but i'd like mine a bit brighter

Patreezy did all of his indicators with these http://superbrightleds.com/specs/74_t15.htm in blue and green. You might be able to get some red ones.

I'm not sure why, but every time I've made my own indicators, they go out. There may be inductance in the Tib's indicator system causing a high reverse voltage or something. Either way, best to buy them and get a warranty. The only LEDs that last are the blinkers and parking lighting.

Post Pix!

are you talking about the the dial... a big mystery that one. it didn't turn up, i looked all over for it, even sifted through all the stuff from my car. it's not even in my zip lock bags. i must have put it in my pocket and it's in some pile of clothes in the laundry room.

stupidly i left the heater control thinking it was easier to snap it off rather than to take out the whole wire and have to carefully pull it back through. i wasn't looking at it logically, that it needed to be there for the LED's and as usual with Tiburons everything is small and tight. i suppose one becomes wiser with every mistake. I've made way too many dumbass mistakes. I would have had the first cluster done, but my friend did that for me and he too had never tackled lighting up a car part. it definitely seems simpler now, but you still have to have time, patience, a little exercise with pre-testing.

Soldering isn't complicated at all, but the more you do it the more efficient you become, and you learn tricks and shortcuts. I popped like 16 red LED's just because I rushed. You should have seen my face when I heard that popcorn sound sorry.gif

I will probably not be opening that cluster back up anytime soon. I used industrial strength adhesive for crafts, to hold the faces to the plastic so the face doesn't bulge and rub the needle. it can be taken off, and glues back but it's a kick in the butt. from wal*mart! stuff is great! it's like plastic rubber and sticks to anything. and if you make a mistake you can always pull it off with ease without a trace.

i'd give you a big bear hug.. aaah i'm so happy, you assembled it so professionally. it's flawless. YES i will take photos as soon as I can get the MPH to give the right speed. That's a hard one to tackle, I don't have any police friends. I do have a scantool but neither me or my friends have laptops.

next project is soundproofing doors, and LED window switch mod.

^^ You can set speed by using cruise control with a buddy's car down the highway. I take it the quick method didn't work for you?

I once popped 6 LEDs on a instrument cluster. I was working late and forgot to put resistors in place. I don't know how, because they're kind of needed to take up the extra distances. For some strange reason I used wire instead. It sucked. I never did 16 though! Man that would suck.

Is it worth it to soundproof the trunk? I've been considering it. I've heard alot about it. I was thinking about doing the area behind and under the rear seats to start with and then moving on if I needed more. Would that be a project you would recommend?

Do the trunk before under the rear seats, the seats muffle sounds pretty well on their own. But if you do the trunk floor and walls and the base of the hatch with deadening mat and closed cell foam it makes a big difference in the sound of your sub. It makes it hit harder in the front seat and really tightens up the sound.

Hmm would I recommend it? I would recommend it towards any tiburon, however let me warn you about a few things. Every package of the stuff weight at about 8 pounds. Just off of doing this, I added somewhere around 35 extra pounds on my car. So I'll tell you the difference so far.

-you know how it is when you're driving without the trunk lid and the seats folded down on the highway and you can hear road hum? well my seats and covers are gone and it basically sounds normal as if I did have the rear seats up and lid. so i can only imagine what it sounds (or rather doesn't sound) like with the seats up and lid covered.

-it would also help keep the music inside of the car so during driving you can hear everything better than before. next week i'll be putting in my head unit.

take note i don't have my doors soundproofed yet and they are the most necessary plus i haven't got all the panels and seats in place so it's too early to say. I'll tell you what I won't recommend, is spending over $100 to diminish a few dba's. save that $100... Tibby01 went all the way with his car because he was patient enough to go piece by piece, bolt by bolt, wire by wire. man he amazes me.

by the way i just drove my car Adam!!! SEEXXXXXXX! The dash looks like a million dollars and it's a pleasure to drive, easy on the eyes. I didn't know red would look so great. I mean blue looks amazing and futuristic and beautiful and all, but red really is good because it's identical to brake lights in the traffic. Howabout next week i show you everything when it's done?

man... thanks so much. it's truly a beauty. you did a really NICE job.

oh yeah the cruise control. mine is out of the car and because of my Airram and tranny swap. i'm thinking of having my friend look into it but it's never been important enough for me to do something about. but yeah that's a great idea, on a sunday to have a friend drive next to me, another friend hold the steering wheel while i pin the tail on the donkey!

Daaaaaaaaaamn!!!! this is really quite the surprise when you turn the lights on at night! simply stunning! everything works great and the gauges and dash are beautiful! DTN man you made it perrrrrrfect. only thing i wish could be also red is the wiper/defrost, foglight and dimmer... that would make it 100% stunning but they're probably impossible to do.

since you want photos, here is a crappy one i took quick because i have no AA batteries. i've got a pro camera i could set for a night shutter speet and would turn out good, pic does absolutely no justice.

then the head unit will be red, and next is the window switches (cuz of the stupid door relays), soundproofing doors, and i'm through.
