Interior Techniques (help)
oh so your dash and door panels have been painted already?
well since the paint is already on the vinyl....if the paint is firm and doesnt chip easily then just lightly sand it to smooth and scuff it and primer and paint but use the SEM vinyl paint becuase it flexes a little.
if you want it stock black you're pretty much out of luck. you can take some "oops" and pour it on and start eating it off but that will take a long time.
they also have this paint remover that makes it easy but im pretty sure it will eat up some of the vinyl.
either get a new dash (which may be hard) or just repaint it, you can even paint it black....
just make sure the paint on there now wont chip before you sand it. if it chips easily....youd better take it all off.

^^ Yeah, oops is the best bet for removing the paint.
you cant leave the stuff exposed to the air too long though. keep it in the bottle, pour it on a rag, and start wiping. It will take alot of time and effort, you would be best off to get most of it off and then use the vinyl paint. If you can remove your windshield, do it. You'll need a new windshield gasket for our vehicals as you must cut out the old one. put it on order from hyundai, or safelite autoglass.
when you get it down to the point where it's left still in the cracks of the vinyl you can repaint with vinyl or what long recommended.
Long: what's sem vinyl?

Yeah I was thinking of going OEM black..but now that I have the exterior green it doesnt exactly match the interior green. Just my luck. Which is fine. I might just do the interior either black and blue or black and white. Cant be sure yet. The paint does however peel off the vinyl relatively easy..it just comes off in small pieces. Which is what I might have to do..
All im saying is that it would probably be much easier to pretty much start over on the interior. Its been through so much paint and sanding and paint...for at least some of the pieces you should try to get some pieces cheap off a couple people that are parting out on the boards here
Yeah, true. But then all the hard work cant pay off if I just get used panels and cheat. Id much rather take pride in restoring my previous screw ups to something that looks REALLY nice.
hey as long as someone doesnt say "damn it looks like he painted that 20 different times"
and instead they say "wow this guy really worked hard to get this to look nice"
then youll be fine. it jsut wouldnt be good to see you put a ton of work into soemthing where its already been through to much. good luck and i cant wait to see it.
