hehe, whats so good about this dash anyway? lmao.gif The main reason i wanted to paint is that it has little chips of paint that came of at some spots, its not too bad when its clean but when theres a bit of dust it looks really bad.. laugh.gif Hmm...oh well ill just leave it as it is for now if u say that dash is not that common lol laugh.gif

EDIT: BTW Oz! Get a new stereo system lol laugh.gif

^^ rare color on RD1s

I really like metalic flake/specs because it already is imperfect, and that's the way it is perfect. It kinda hides dust.

Like Tibby01 was saying about imperfections, i thought i'd be able to fill in an area where i messed up and used 40 grit sand paper accidentally. I used a heavy coat of paint and dried it quickly and ensured there was no dripping. All i had was a really shiny indented area.

DO NOT USE SPRAY PAINT!!!!

If your seriously wanting to paint that dash help someone else out and trade for the black interior cause you do indeed have a rare dash. Wish it would fit my tib.

Painting your dash is simple. Pull out all the parts you want painted and sand ALL of the shiney coat off of them with a medium to high grit sand paper and make sure that it is super smooth. Then wipe off all of the dust with a tach cloth and some low heat paint thinner. Then spray a couple good even smooth coats of primer letting it dry thouroly between each coat. The do the same with your paint. Do several LIGHT smooth coats. After you have finished this and got your paint to a tick smooth coat let all pieces dry in a VERRY warm room with no dust. When you get done with that install it back and take good care of it and apply 3M rubbing compound on it.

Yeah..except i can hardly load that garage =/ dunno y but its always takin time and usually way longer than any other pages around here...

When i picked up my car from auto service today (had to replace CV joint) i went into this shopping centre to have a look for some material for my vent angel eyes (couldnt find it) so as i got back to my car, i noticed that someone had kicked my front bumper (on the side) and scratched it sad.gif looks like someone kicked it with the side of the shoe and pushed it down scratching it...... 02.gif

If you do it right You won't be able to tell the difference between spraypaint and a sprayer.

Think about it, duplicolor gets paid to do nothing but compress spray paint in cans and come up with ways to make it look better. They control the quality of spray with each can they make. They've been doing it for years. Are you going to buy a sprayer from a no-name company which will do the exact same thing as a can of paint?

Go to http://duplicolor.com/training/metal..._training.html and watch the video. They show you how to paint. Go through and watch each one. You'll realize if done right, you can get the same look as you'd get from a paint shop.

I'm pretty good, on small surfaces I can actually get NO eggshell whatsoever. I wouldn't trust my hand to larger surfaces though. Something small like the interior panels is no problem whatsoever to spraypaint. It's easy to keep track of

Tell them about it. Pester them daily, request to speak to the manager. That's unacceptable if that happened to your vehical in their care.

i think he was just saying that to make sure he didnt ruin that rare dash.

but yeah, you can get the same results from spray cans as you can from compressor feed guns. its just harder.
