its the same color as my car i got it all done for 50 bucks clear coat and all. All i did was take it apart and take it to the guy

it was a local shop that did it, he also has done previous work on my car and bro's he cut me a deal

Did you sand and prime it first? or did he? looks great, looks like alot of clear coat on it, how much glare do you get from it driving during the day?

 

You could have saved 50$ and done it yourself. But that is a very good deal!

 

i'm not sure how he did it but i think it turned out good something i know i couldn't have done i don't paint well so i let someone who knows how to do it for me

 

you cant tell how much clear he put on it by the finish. he just did a nice job with lying out the clear. probly used ppg, and he prob scrubbied it and no primer. yeah there is someone else who knows about paint and finish and fiberglass and body work other than vision!!! you know. laugh.gif

 

i was just curious b/c i would also have someone paint mine when i get around to it, but sanding and priming is hard, tedious maybe but not hard. plus the fact that i would probably go red to match, it would need primer anyways to be sure it adhears well. don't know if i will paint it, or use lacquer if i can find a close match to my cardinal red tibby. I work in for a paint co. and we also have a spray booth for either paint or lacquer, and from what i've heard lacquer is a bit more rugid (lasts longer) then paint. the main point of my post above was to find out how much glare there is from the paint and clear.

 

I started painting my dash the other day. I started with the shifter surround because I wanted to see how much glare there was going to be. I think I may have to use more of a flat clear coat to cut down the glare, because it seems like there is going to be alot.
