people usually take it out for winter so there subs dont blow since parts can freeze, and with such large movement of the sub it can bust the rubber or who knows what else, i dont personally bother with it, i just dont put the volume up too loud until the system warms up, havent had any problems so far

Maybe it could be some cables in your sub system touching and making the bass deeper? I would check all of your connections first.

sounds to me like you have a loose speaker wire above all else

This is your answer. It would not be a power issue at all. Your problem deals with a input line to either your speakers or amplifier. You're either opening a wire (bad thing) or shorting a wire to ground (very bad thing).

The proper way to connect a capacitor is to connect the ground wire with a resistor before connecting it with wire. Use a 50-200 ohm 1W resistor for 30 secconds to 2 minutes and then connect the wire directly.

A light will work, but a resistor shouldn't burn your hands and provides a known value of resistance. (lots of technical mumbo jumbo here) and that's why your equipment will last longer when using a resistor instead of a lamp.

Windows can also shatter when they're nice and cold and hit with a fairly large vibration. It happened in my Escort, the glass blew out onto the road. The only thing holding it together was the window tint.
