Alright im not sure if this is the right section for this but i need your opinions on something
the other day my girlfriend told me that she wanted to get my windows tinted for my birthday which is in september, but she wants to do it now before summer ends. Because its hot as hell here...lol

I want to know if I shoud get them tinted platinum or if i should go with black 5% or black 10%
I have a white rd1 just so you know. What do you think would look best?

My second question is has anyone herd of herculiner its a paint/roll on bed liner... i was thinking of using this stuff in my trunk and cabin insted of getting my car rhino lined for sound deadaning. Would it be worth the saved money and is this stuff any good? Or should i just go with the rhino lining.

Thanks for the advice fing02.gif

platnum tint calls alot of attention to your car, so if u dont mind it or thats what your going for then do that. i would personally go with the black tint because it just looks like a tinted car and not like your tryin to stand out.

I'd go with black. Man I wish I could go 10%. Best we can do is 35% in Mass.

20% black is dark enough but not to dark you can't see out of. I like it alot! Thats what I would recommend.

Silver windows on a white car don't seem to go too much... I'd do the black and probably a 10% or 15%, it gets super hard to see out below 15%. I have 20% and it's just perfect.

Legality doesn't seem to matter much, I've never heard of anyone getting busted for being 15% off regulation, but I don't know by experience wink1.gif

You all need to take more pictures. When you take them from JUST the right angle, it makes it look darker then my 20% / 5% . This is as dark as i was authorized by texas state law.

if you want it to look like this, just tell them you want as dark as possible all around. usually they will only let you go to 20-15% on the front. They can put limo tint on the rear usually. It all depends on the state laws.

i have 5% all the way around my rd2 and its perfact, you dont have to worry about not being able to see out. Its really not a factor. I would recommend atleast a 6-8" tint strip on the front window, it helps a lot in the early morning late afternoon sun. 15% and anything higher was never enough for me to feel comfortable with the sun beating down.

my 2 cent

^^ dude, i wouldn't want 5% on the front windows. 5% is very difficult to see out, especially at night.

FYI: All my pictures are tinted the same. It just depends on how light hits it.

Cool thanks for all of the input on the tint, I think im gonna go with 10% in the front and 5% on the back... 20% just dosent seem dark enough for me.

So has any one heard of that herculiner stuff???
