Default I got a small problem - please help

for x-mas I received Corbeau 4-point harnesses from Edwin... and well here's the problem

and here they are:

Well as you can see from my amp set-up, there's no way to get the harnesses in there... the way they should be installed is criss-crossing them and bolt them up to the stock rear seatbelt holes... which are under that setup...

what can I do??? or am I screwed for now???

I was gonna redo my AMP SETUP, cause I want to add fiberglass to match the rear, if there's no other way to go about it, but a new setup, than please help by posting pics of some nice amp racks that could help and still allow my harnesses...

P.S. I was looking to do something like this, but if others have better ideas let me know please... Problem is that my harness still wouldn't work???

Maybe, cuz the area around the seat bolts is probably thicker than other areas. Designed to allow more tension when a body is thrown against the belts, which tries to pull the bolts out of the floor, thus the thicker steel at bolt points.

Yes? No? I've been known to be incorrect before.

You can`t bolt them to the floor!!!!
The idea of harnesses is to hold you away from everything incase the worse happens
If you bolt them to the floor and something happens and your seat breaks (the back bit) there would be nothing stopping the back of the seat from flipping forward (along with you in it)
If harnesses were mounted the way they are supposed to be then seat wouldn`t move forward - just backwards after the impact which wouldn`t be so bad

hope that makes sense to everyone else not just me

In SCCA harnesses are mandated to either be bolted to the floor or the roll cage. The type of harness he has goes through holes in the seat, and that will hold the back in place. The seat back won't break anyways... It may bend, but it won't break.

The "cure" to the thin sheetmetal is to have a pad welded under the floorpan where you want to mount the belts, and bolt through the floor and the sheet steel pad. This spreads the force from the bolt around enough so it won't rip out.

Well guys, this is sorta what I had in mind to do in the amp rack... As some of you know I was tired of not having just a bit of fiberglass to match the rear and dash in my amp set up...

So with my sponsors last night we came up with something similar to this, please tell me what you think...

The rear will remain the same, the only thing that we're changing is the amp setup... the 2 amps will know be sorta cascading down in the middle and on the sides, there will be 2 blue monster caps, and we're not sure what else... Also I will be painting my center console, that way the blue from my dash keeps going thru the middle and meeting up with the new cascading fiberglass amps down the middle going up unto the rear fiberglass speakers...

What do you guys think???

P.S. also this will then give us room to include the harnesses into the rear seats where they should go... since there will be no amps in the sides... Of course there will be some neons there too

Good call. That should look pretty wakad, and still give you harnesses. Two thumbs up!

Also, Mike Free, another good call on the welded pad under the floor. Good thinking!

Depends where your thinking of mounting the harnesses
The way Bat describes it he`s talking about bolting them right behind the seat (means the belt would follow the line of the seat)

THIS IS NOT ALLOWED!!!!

They have to go back on at least a 45 degree angle to there mounting points for reasons as i have said above

This is what it stipulates in the CAMS motor racing book which is the same as your ANDRA

Ohh and Bat - i`ll try and get some pics of my mates old 94 Excel he had (your Elantra i think)

That had 18 15" Fusion subwoofers in it and held the Australian record for while

I`m assuming your car is a hatch or this setup won`t fit
