Dweet my HU pulled the same stunt when I pulled up in the parking garage for class. I was sitting there for a good 5 min turning the car back on and off, checking fuses, tapping my HU lol..then i detached the face, and on my unit is a RESET button. So i took my pen and stuck it in there and held it there for 10 sec. Similar to reseting a cable modem. Afterwards i poped my face back on and never had a problem since then.
Mind you i have the sony CDX F7705X so im not sure if your HU has a reset button.

The display on my face went black but the music still played. There are no blown fuses. Im thinking its a problem with my face because it music still continued to play but it has since stopped and wont come on.
my stock cd player did the same exact thing. it has no lights working but still plays. the CD sometimes gets stuck so i have to reset it with a piece of wood... you know... from ice cream? wink.gif

dweet. somewhere on the face or the front of the h/u there should be a little button or something that gets pushed down when the face is fliped up and locked. this tells the h/u to accept inputs from the buttons and to light up the faceplate.
look around for that little button.

Little late to the party... but you could always read HU as the phonetic to "who" and then add a question mark at the end... but then you have to wonder why he would be asking us that question?
