If you still want a trunk you can lose the rear seats. Here is my set up 2 15" jl audio w3 wires are still alittle messy though. It's out of the car right now for winter. But I can still get my spare out and have plenty of room, just no back seat.

QUOTE
RED HOT TIBURON:
Well my idea is to make a new deck in the back that goes from the back seats to the back of the trunk (like your box does) and put some speakers in there..... the whole new deck would be able to lift up so I can still get into my trunk..... possible?
You can possibly get away with that, but it may turn out to be a prolem in the long run.

Subwoofers need to have enclosures to function properly, so you would need to make sure that the top panel seals down to the rest of the trunk. Something like those 15" subs that Kickergod's got will be really hard pressed to sound good with a hinged lid...

Because I opted to keep my spare tire, I went with a setup that involved sealed enclosures that were as small as possible, while still an appropriate size to sound good. For that reason, I chose a pair of 10" subwoofers. It's not an SPL setup, but it could become one with bigger amplifiers. (But for my tastes, it's loud enough. I'm more interested in sounding good than loud.)

My setup leaves me a lot of trunk space, and access to my spare tire.

If you really need to keep that spare tire, then you're going to have to compromise on your sound system. Or your budget. smile.gif

Good luck.
