How important is it to match parts to the same company?
Went to a car show the other day and saw a couple of cars that had stereo equipment all from the same company. It started to make me think and wonder how important is it to match subs and speakers with amps and other parts with the same company. Do you really get better sound by doing that or is it a myth?

I doubt you get better sound, but I would be they test their equipment with their own equipment so you may be able to get a better match, power/performance, but I would say it's mostly due to people being
1. Brand Loyal
2. Consistent look throughout their setup
3. Sponsorship or discounts from buying many pieces together
4. Local shop that gets better deals for that brand and pushes sales more.
