You should be able to splice into the Crank Position sensor, and get a reading off that.
go to www.hmaservice.com.
You should find all the low down on your motor and where the Crank Position sensor is, and where the wiring harness/connector is.

Hey random any idea which wire do i splice from the sensor? I got 3 wires, red, white, and green on the tachometer, and from what i saw the red and white are power wires, and when i used the green wire to get a signal from the sensor, it doesnt read.

I would have to see the manual from Autometer. I'm not sure how they "wire" theirs.
You could try to splice into the wire that feeds directly to the Tach, behind the dash, but it may be a bitch to find and splice into.

Do you have access to a fax machine? If so, let me know. You could fax me the install instructions and I could see what I make of them.
E-mail me if you can do it. mailto:random00@mindspring.comrandom00@mindspring.com

Okay, you cannot hook this to the CPS, as it wants a "spark" signal, not a "crank" signal.
Basically, you need to hook this into the "trigger" wire for the DI. I'm not sure which one that is. Let me check www.hmaservice.com and I'll let you know.

Okay, looks like you need to hook the tach into one of these 3 wires.
I can't tell which yet. One is ground, the other two are 12+ switched that tells the ignition when to fire, Each cylinder fires twice, so there is a "waste" spark.
I'm thinking this is going to mess up your Tach, but I'm not sure.
BTW...I moved this to the ENGINE forum as it is more "engine" related that "interior" related.
