Head Unit Install
Actually, NVm....I'll just post it in here....

EDIT: Do you have the Double or Single DIN radio, because you may need to get a mounting kit for the HU (definitely if you have the Double)

One thing I would suggest is that you DO NOT use the ground wire in the stock harness. They are known to have problems. Even if you use an adapter, I would suggest grounding it yourself. Use your own ground for the head unit and make sure to ground it to the chasis. I just found a large bolt under the dash that made good contact with the chasis. My stock CD player had grounding problems AND the bad stock ground fried an AIWA headunit I had installed professionally. I rewired everything and have had my Alpine in for 4 years with no probs since I re-grounded it with my own wire.

Thanks for all the help, just went down to the store and bought some front and rear channells as well. Also the ipod hookup, might as well do it all at once. Thanks for the heads up on the ground, definately look into that one.
jToIeB do you have the same deck? If so, how is it, how do you like it???

Seriously, I have done quite a few headunit installs and buying an adaptar is the easiest and safest way to go. Not to mention it makes it sooooo much easier to go back to stock if you decide to sell the car. The adaptars only cost..maybe $20 which isn't bad for how much easier it makes things, not to mention cleaner looking.
same advice from me, much much better solution

I scanned this awhile back, sorry I forgot to post it.
Personally, you are going the hard route. Go get the appropriate smart cables from Circuit City and be done with it in 5 minutes, no soldering, no crimping, nothing.
