Since I don't plan on doing a tranny swap unless necessary,and I can't stand the look of the auto shifter.,what If I put a leather boot on it,nice it up,under the cover(hide all indicators) and added something like this? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002IAT9...=xm2&n=15684181 ??? opinions please.(see more expensive/stylish ones but I dont want to pay the price of a tranny) ps just an idea for us automaniacs.

 

sure it would be cool... but don't do it man. throw the money elsewhere. who needs a shift indicator when you'll be looking down anyways. it's like a handicapped hinge for older folks getting out of a tiburon --they won't really be driving a tiburon if they're that old.

 

as soon as someone gets in your car they'll realize its auto and not manual anyway...that's like putting those ricer "turbo sounding" things in your exhaust. just be real mang, do the swap!

 

he he, I just wanna hide the grade 3 type letters by the stick that doesnt match anything else in the car..you put the indicator in the dash or anywhere.

I don't trust that thing.... you'd think if they spent THAT much time on making it, they could have put in a $.50 4.5V voltage regulator to run off the car battery... this item is TEH GAY IMO. It dosn't make any sence.

 

If you're that concerned about people knowing you drive an auto...just do the swap, at least you'd get something out of it.

 

You can tell if your in P, R D or what ever with out that. Id say do nothing with it.

 

as I kinda said before,I dont give a crap who cares if I drive an automatic??why would it mean anything to me???????? I just wanna do something different!! If I want a Fast Manual car, I'd just go out tuesday and buy one!... this is my sort of commuter and I'm just playin with ideas! geesh!!!!! sad.gif ( maybe just a strip of electrical tape over the indicator)ha ha

 

I was thinkin' the same thing. I was gonna get one of those boots from RedZ and put it in over the bezel and get a custom shift knob. I'm in it for the look. Possibly a shortened shifter height with a pistol grip handle.
