the color comes from the faces. i think zoned was talking about the difference between EL style faces and just regular colored gauges.

for example, the gauges at the hp.com shop are EL faces, meaning current is pased through the faces, and it reacts with the electroluminescent liquid to produce light.

the bros faces are just regular faces. they use the same technique on your warning indicators to change colors. a thin film of color is all.

 

No, it doesn't. The blue and RED come from the actual gauge face. I just had one of each set on my desk.

Nice gauges @ speedstate. I really like the reverse glow look. But I'll just order the Bros gauges for now, along with the 6 new bright led's.
WIth my luck one of the original bulbs probably will go bad after just putting in the gauges and reapplying the whole dashboard rolleyes.gif

 

My gauges were a pain in the butt. I bought them off of ebay and they wernt the best. I used double sided tape but the unstuck and i had to pull it all back out and fix it. My gauges didnt fit on right and i had to take them out mutiple times. I bought reverse guages so i look my stock leds out
