BTW the amp in my sig is a 75w on paper too. but who ever heard of a 75w amp that needed dual fans, and it weighes just as much as my 15"sub

I ordered one of these. It's a noise filter for the 12v line and this was the one that eliminated all the screen lines when the engine was running..

And to get rid of the alternator whine I used one of these, nice simple ground loop isolator.

Which fixed pretty much everything.. All that is left to do now is theme the trunk with green neons and fit the FX45.. Oh and make the cable cover plates for the trunk because it was raining on tues (bastard weather).
As for your radio thing, yeah Im pretty sure you can get a signal booster that piggy backs between the head unit and antenna. Although be warned, just because it sucks in a better signal doesnt mean it works good because it also sucks in the static.
If you need anything for tweaking/troubleshooting try this site, they have alot of gismos and theyre better than radiocack in price and assortment of goodies smile.gif

Edit : and any great amp would be seriously under rated, its when they over rate them that you know theyre shit.

^^ on that note, your amplifier will only be capable of pushing fuse amp rating times 14.6(alternator charge voltage). My 1200W with 2 40A fuses, amplifier is actually only capable of 1168W in this car. at 14.7V it could possibly push 1200 without blowing the fuses.
It's certainly very complicated optimo, that's for sure.
There are an array of factors in overall wattage output, namely ampage of the car's electrical system, the wiring used, caps, and so on (and even alternators).
There are very few companies who under rate their equipment, because they dont care as they know the people who truly know car audio gear will know what to expect.
Phoenix gold is one of the few who under rate their stuff, hence their fanbase.. Cerwin Vega are also known for doing so.
Kicker and Audiobahn give you a 'birthsheet' (as do rockford) which depicts the exact max power in RMS. However those tests are done in ideal conditions and that is the max you can expect.
I had a kicker amp and couldnt stand it. Im not a big fan of audiobahn but I got mine really cheap and I needed something ballsy and gutsy to pump the sub without having to take out a mortgage..
I will replace it with a PG xenon 1200.1 as soon as I have the cash, but for now its an ideal surrogate.
I also have to work on the theme of the install now, the mechanics are all there now its time to make it compete on a visual side smile.gif
