The car came with an alarm but it seems not affected by the switch. Didn't have any subs as far as I know. Havn't had time to follow the wires I work 12+ hour nights so I sleep all day. I'll try to get a pick up this weekend.

previous owner may have installed a e-brake simulator like myself. I have a small momentary switch that i have to press when i want to watch TV because the manufacturer demands that you set the ebrake to useit, and if you have it on when the vehical is turned on, you have to take it off for 1 seccond and re-apply it. May be something like that.... Or it could be a self destruct switch and when you hit it the 100th time it will cause the end of the world.
Its the button that opens and closes your neighbors garage door two doors down. Wait till he/she goes to pull in and then press the button on and off and watch the door open and close on em....Everybody must know this commercial, cept maybe your foreign guys..

If it's for the alarm the correct terminology for it is Valet switch.
You would deactivate the alarm, turn the ignition on and throw the switch, and which point the alarm's LED should be permanently on.
The reason is if you are having your oil done, parking it somewhere and dont want it going off all the time and so on...
On my 98 FX the valet switch is inside the fuse panel, it's a switchy switch (not a button) and is part of the clifford/hyundai alarm.
If your switch is the rocker type and has SAS on it it might be to turn off the airbags if of course the prior owner was a midget.
