I don't know if I should put his name out there because some of you might swarm in on this one, but I'll do it anyways. Thanks Hobby-G!!!!! Mang I'd hug you, and Richard (who got me the bumper) from UK if I were a girl. Who knows would happen if you guys gave me a tour of MSD facility in Milton Keynes. I'm a huge rally coupe fan and Hobbz hooked me up with the official face gauge, I'm not sure of anyone ahead of me on this:

Would have posted on Euro parts thread, but I'm going to be taking the dash apart anyways so I have a few questions about LED's. I'll need all the help I can get.
I'm going to try and see if I can do the LED's myself. This is because I use my car everyday and cannot afford to drive without an speed/odometer. I'll have to sacrifice one day to do it.
1. The stock gauges come off with just screwdrivers? What about power harness from the computer? will anything have to be unplugged, wires cut to get the cluster out?
2. Blue LED's. Will I need 420ohm resistor per LED? Whats the best number of LED's to use total?
3. The face plate on these gauges is just like stock. Will I need to do anything to have the gauge emit the most amount of light or will these light up like the North Pole on Christmas?

Im glad that they got to you alright! Your very welcome and I dont mind a bit about you putting my name out there.
I cant wait to see them in YOUR car!!
For your #1, yes, it is just screws to actually take it off, and I think that are some wafer plugs (I think is was they are called)... its the same type that connect every other connector in the car.
#2... thats not me mang. lol

Are you selling like f2 individual rims on ebay? cause I emailed someone about a bumper on there and they never sent me back a reply... I Really want one of those F2 bumpers!!!! Thats the only way ill take the bra off my car is with that bumper.
i have a 99Tib there are afew screws that have to come out to release the main part of the dash(around the clocks) if like mine the harness wires are not very long not much give, to remove it completely you need to then unplug 5 - 6 plugs this will let you pull the dash forward a bit more, then behind the fan and heater controls there are some more screws screwed into the back of the control unit once you have taken them out the whole top part of the dash can be removed. then there should be 4 screws in the corners of the clocks/ dails undo these and the dail pod should just pull out, nothing else to unplug as the pod has built in plugs which just slot into place when you put it back in. i did this to mine when i changed my dail bulbs, its not hard to do its just a bit fiddley, as for wiring l,e,d's i have done this to behinde my vents, each one should have a resistor conected to the positve leg( normally the longest one), i found that no more 3 l,e,d's in one circuit worked best i tried more at firs but they were not that bright, hope this helps you out.

here's a pic with my lamp behind it. it seems like it's an orange color. i hope this doesn't interfere with the blue, hopefully the blue will be strong enough but who knows. any advice on that will be neat.

Guys thanks for the input! Just to answer a few questions. Don't even think about importing F2 rims. you'll end up paying more than you would importing the whole car thanks to U.S. customs and charges. the F2 bumper mold is available for Chris, but he's never promoting it so nobody is buying it and I don't know how many he has to offer.
The sacrifice was two birthday dinners and a few movie rentals for these. It's crazy, but I'm not going to have a job or this hobby soon.
the background of the face plates are cream colored. they look white to the naked eye, but a teaspoon hint of lime in the mix. pretty much like the color of a newly sprouted white flower in the spring.
hobbz i'll get back to you soon about those emblems. like flowers, i have to bloom the cash petals smile.gif you've been the top businessman with me smile.gif
TC you european ricer!! haha you want to feel like you're going faster with KMh lmao.gif

It's going to take more then a day. Trust me.

After you remove the bolts from the front of the cluster, you can just pull it out as a unit. There's some pins on the back that will just slide out of the connectors.

You will need 470 ohm if you plan on running them in sets of Power-LED-LED-resistor-ground. If not, then you will need 510-560 ohm resistors.

For needles, I always use 4 for the odometer, 6 for the speedometer and 6 for the fuel/coolant. If you're talking about backlighting, it's a b**** mang. I would be willing to help you out and make you some of these for $100. They take about 15 hours of work to make, not including drying time, and they have to be done just right unless you like splotchyness of color.

The gauges will light up just fine if you do the LED mod properly. I can tell by looking at them that they're not difused as the stock ones are. They will need LED backlighting. If you stick bulbs in them, the light will be alot brighter near the lamps then away from them.
You can't run LEDs on stock unless you remove all the stock difusion paint and make them like yours.

If u use oops on the back, you may be able to remove the paint and make them clearer for the LEDs to shine through.

does anybody know a good place where i can order LED's from and how many, 25?
Ebay is a great place, unless you know someone who deals with LEDs. My uncle gets me an awesome price.
btw, i have stock RD1 and RD2 clusters here ready for conversion if you'd like me to do the work, set the odometer and do a swap.
