2 screws on the rear edge, 2 screws on the front edge, 2 screws behind covers on the grab handle, and 1 screw for the door latch surround. After all the screws are out, remove the door latch surround. Before actually removing the panel, lower the windows,it makes it easier to work with. Now there are 2 clips on the back side of the panel, that attach to the door.Dig your fingers up between the door and panel on one lower end,and pull. When the one end is off the door, then do the same for the other end.Don't worry, those clips are quit strong. They won't break too easily.

Once the panel is free form the door,on the bottom, you slide the top slightly to the rear to release the seal from the door. Now you have a bunch of wires to disconnect. So make sure you hold onto the panel good after you get it completely away from the door.Connectors to disconnect:

(1)Speaker
(2)2 connectors on the drivers side for the windows/mirrors

I think that's it if I remember right. The passenger side has only 2 connectors total.

This is it in a nut shell.I'm sure the other guys will help me out if I forgot anything.

No.No.No!!!!!!!!! The 3 screws on the bottom only hold in the map pocket. You don't have to remove those.

Yeah, guys!! If you look some time when you have the panel(s) off,you will see on the back side where those screws secures the map pocket to the door panel.

Don't worry. The first time I removed my panels I also thought I had to remove the bottom screws. The VW's I have owned in the past always had 3 or 4 screws on the bottom which secured the bottom of the panel to clips on the door.
