optimo, shut up and read his post. His Xplode's are NOT the kind you can buy in wal-mart, they're several steps up from that.
Also, dont' be a brand ass. I'm running 2 Xplode 12's from best buy, and I have been running them for the past 3 years, and they haven't blown, they don't sound bad, and they don't suck. In fact between my system and the 4 or 5 systems that have gone through my friends cars, mine has always sounded the best. Buy what you want, but don't be an ass about what brands to buy. Just because somethings super expensive doesn't mean it's better. That's why I wear Levis and don't buy designer t-shirts, because my clothes serve the same purpose and I don't pay the inflation caused by being a trendy brand. That's not to say that quality can't cost, but you can also have good quality without cost.
Basically it boils down to don't be an ass, so I should have just typed that.

^^ ya. That's exactaly what I'm saying. You can buy a new pair of blue jeans, or a designer set and pay alot more. The only difference is that the designer pair looks like it's been worn for years and/or has holes in it already.
I'm not knocking your speakers at all. I've never heard them. I'm just saying that you can get more bounce to the ounce (of cash) by going with a more respected, trusted, tried and true brand.
Also, you cannot buy this speaker at walmart.

well once agin they are deptment store brand speakers which like i said wont hold candle to specialized equipment. it dosent mean that its not ok or wont push their watts or anything like that. i'm talkin about real SQ/SPL equipment for SERIOUS systems.
go to any shop who has won more than a few awards and chances are they wont use or sell xplod stuff. im serious go to a really truely nice stereo shop in a reasonable sized city and look, its not like i'm making this stuff up, my stereo shop used to be a repair shop to and they were allways fixing subs and amps for people, thats why if they wont sell it then i dont mess with it because they know what all goes wrong with whatever brand stuff.
as far as levis and cloths and shit i havent bought new clothes since i bought the tib so i know whats up on saving money to get what you want, but once agin this thread is about upscale audio equipment. not trying to save money so you can kinda sort of get close to the quality of sounds.

and bro like i said i know that you dont just go around doing any ol thing with your car cause i know u love it but bro even if that xplod would actually truely stand 1400watts it wouldnt sound good.
i'm sure that it beats more then the actual walmart style xplods but even if u got them a best buy or circuit shitty those places are huge deptment store that dont know the most about stereos because they only have a 15x15 section of overpriced/underpowered/non quality stuff.
is this allways true? no but when i walked in circuit shitty yesterday the best they had was mtx which have good 10" subs but i really dont even care for them because you need a few of them to really get going.
also that speaker that you show are those 8 or 4 ohm coils?? because that another thing about xplods is that they dont offer big enough coils for you to bridge down to 1ohm or less. at least audiobahn makes immortals that are stable down to 1/4 ohm. i mean have you really ever heard what something like that sounds like??
i think sony is such a big corporation that they have so many products that their xplod line is the least of their worrys. i would rather be with a company that ONLY makes stereo equipment, that would make them a specialized company instead of a megacorp who just happens to make stereos.
and as for bounce to the ounce you should check into how much your sub weights and i'll go to store and ask them how much on of theirs weights because of the magnet choice they use their subs are usually half the weight and twice the power of similar sub. on the cash wise side of things i get the quality parts i really dont care about the cost it just means i need to save more.
i guess really we are comparing apples and oranges, your talking about maybe a corvette of subs and i'm over here talkin about a S500 of subs. not that corvettes and 1400watt sonys arent nice, they just arent S-class, upscale style equipment.
