Crazy Subwoofers
A while back I had installed a line level converter and wired my amp and 2 10" subs. When I wired it all initially, the power was going to the amp fine, so I assumed something was wrong wtih either the wiring of the line level converter or the subwoofers themselves. However, a few days ago I was riding around with my friend and I had just left everything in my car even though it wasn't working, and out of nowhere they started working, they hit about 3 times, stopped then a minute later hit once more and that was it. Does anyone have any idea what the explanation for this could be? faulty connection? Because I checked all the connections of the wires within the box and from the amp etc. and found no loose attachments.
Cybershark...............How's this off topic??
jToIeB.................It sounds like a loose connection. If you are positive things are wired correctly and good with the converter, then look at your amp power connections.Ground in particular. If that looks good, then I'd try a different set of RCA's.You may have inadvertently broke a ground shield, while installing them.If that's not it, then the next thing will be the subs.Get an Ohm Meter and check the nominal impeadance of them. Also make sure that you have them configured and correctly connected to the amp.In other words, if the amp is 4 ohm stable in bridged mode, make sure the subs are NOT wired together for a total impeadance of less then 4 Ohms.
