anyone who's done this, what did you use for the lense? i read in the diy section about blue tic tac boxes, transparent paint, and folder tabs. i've never seen a blue tic tac box, folder tabs didn't work, and where can you get blue transparent paint?

The metalkast paints are transparent. You should be able to spray it with that and achieve the results you want. I would try it on a spare piece of plastic first though.

..yeah i couldn't get a nice coat that was transparent also using spray paint, maybe i don't have the right stuff, but we only have PLASTIKOTE paints around here, no duplicolor anywhere in my town. i tried anodized, regular, and high temp and none are transparent when i spray on plexiglass.

Dude, just buy some 1/8 inch thick transparent plastic.

And before you ask where, do a search on Google. There are TONS of websites for plastic sales.
Also, Blacktibs can get you the proper size lens in the color you want, contact him, he did mine.
