Hey all,

Me again.. I was trying to hook up my fm transmitter for my car to play songs through my laptop ( Till i get my new deck ) But to my surprise the lighter jack doesn't work. I checked the fuse box and the fuse for the lighter also the one for interior lights so i guess it's not the fuse. Any thoughts?

Oh it's a 2000 tibby..

thanks

you've replaced your head unit, right? Well, when removing the radio surround, pulling it out of the way, you may have unplugged the cigarette lighter. Pull it off real quick (takes 2 minutes) and make sure there's a cable going into the back of the cigarette lighter. If there isn't, dig around down there and find it, shouldn't be too hard to find.

I checked the cable .. It's all good .. Now as for the fuse .. The fusebox says that fuse is for interior lights and lighter .. Well i know the interior lights work, So should the fuse be okay?

Default SAFC II or E-Manage

I would imagine so... but I can't remember exactly. Does the cigarette lighter not light, or have you tried plugging other stuff into it (phone charger, etc.)
because it could just be a bad cigarette lighter. My dads lighter went bad in his Sebring

OKay I checked all the fuses, none of them are burnt out .. If it is the cigarette lighter, how hard is that to change?

clearing things up...

1. the car is on when you try it, right?

2. have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the cable behind the ashtray assembly? maybe it just isnt connected all the way.

3. try testing for power at the connection, instead of at the lighter. make sure the car is on, disconnect those wires and check.
