Default Battery relocation questions

Im going to be relocating my battery. I will be putting it in the hatch inside a battery box bolted to my floor, and running 0 gauge wire from my engine bay to the hatch. i know i need to put a fuse several inches from the battery. My question is what size fuse do i need for a setup like this, with probably 10-12 feet of 0 gauge wire. While searching i read anywhere from 80A to 150A, hence my confusion.

I would go with the 150a since an 80a could blow easier killing power to everything in your car. Leave it up to your stock fuses to protect your car.

0 gage is way too big. My Genesis Coupe's starter only draws 40A. It is only the starter draw you have to worry about. I used a 100A and #3 wire.

0 gauge is big but I would hesitate to use anything smaller for a battery relocation. Then again, I used 4AWG for a couple hundred watts worth of amplifiers for the stereo. You could hardly hurt yourself (aside from your budget) by going too big.

Well with the actual battery cable the only real load is the starter. The alternator is feeding the whole car circuit but to the battery it is only what it takes to recharge the battery after a start.

My last car had a starter that drew 150A and I used 2ga wire and a 150A inline fuse. Never a problem in 6 years.

May I ask why you relocating the battery?, just curious?...I prefer to keep all the weight on my front tires, have a turbo setup, and lots of room., If I had a genesis,I would relocate to the rear...
