thanks pandy. You being the audiophile you are have probly seen similar projects alot. I got the fiberglass mat and resin at autozone for about $40 for this project. You can get it much cheaper online, but I'm impatient like that.
Hah! thats 2 mexican rat piss lovers! Tibby01, don't hate...

any beer that is only bare-able with fruit in it is not a real beer.
blue moon for instance, awesome beer by itself, even awesomer with an orange slice. the fruit should enhance the inherent qualities fot he beer.
plus corona is ridiculous expensive.

you don't HAVE to put lime in it, it just tastes better that way. This is getting off topic.
I hate you and I hate the beer you like! wink1.gif
Hopefully I'll have this installed tonight.

That's a switch, a LED and a fuse you see there in the last picture. It needs to have electronics mounted inside, wiring needs to be completed, The carpet goo needs to come off with goo-gone and last but not least, the finished project gets mounted in my trunk.
although the carpet looks grey in these pics , it's actually a really good match for the stock black in the tiburon.

At long last, my AV mount is completed. I can't wait until tomorrow so i can actually see my work installed. It was too dark out to really get a good look tonight. Here's the finished pix.

The pix aren't the greatest. It looks alot better in person. Much blacker. The white seam makes it look crooked. The thing needs to be steam-cleaned.
The monitor pivots about 70 degrees up and down as well, so with the seat laying down it is still viewable as well as standing right over the top of it.
Even though it's installed, it's not done yet. I am planning on getting a S-Video to AV or coax adapter so i can use my new box as a hub for all of my media input/output... X-box, extra monitors and what not.
I'll put some connections on the outside of the box, on the bottom for inputs. Outputs will all be routed to my head-unit and can be hidden.
Total running cost- $150 and ~15 hours for this project

I got the biggest compliment yesterday BTW...
There's a tweeter housing holding the TFT's speaker on the bottom of the unit you can't see in the pix. I went to the local sterio shop to buy a set of tweets and tore one apart in the parking lot to test fit it. It worked well. Some guy walked up to me and asked who did my fiberglass work and he was looking to have some done. I told him that I do all my own work. He asked me for a business card!!! I was flattered, but I don't have one. I gave him my cell phone number and told him I'd make a custom fiberglass box for around $250. He said he'd call soon.
That monitor can display one of 3 things once i get the inputs hooked up, either video in or the same thing that's installed on the main monitor or it can display "multi-zone". My deck has about 7 or 8 different audio/video sources (ipod, sd card, tv, radio, dvd, av in, and backup camera once i get it installed) and a combination can be displayed in the "main zone" and something else in the "multi-zone". unfortunately when setup as multi-zone, it cannot display the main zone at all, so i need this box to be able to switch. I figure I'll burn a DVD of windows media player visualizations or something cool and have that displayed on the 2nd monitor for car shows. I also need to get some disks together with music videos.
So basically what's going to be displayed on this monitor is everything and anything. For right now, it's just whatever's on the main screen.
Just checked it out in the light. It needs to move 1" over to the left before I take pix and call it finished.

i scratched the heck out of my amp with my button on the arm of my leather jacket when i was installing the TV, so i had to repaint the amp as a part of this project. It now matches the rest of my car. I'll get pix after it's installed and my trunk is cleaned.

stock was machine groved xplod emblem, silver center cover and gunmetal housing.
now it's brushed aluminum emblem, blue metal specs center cover and super silver housing.
The paint hardens to the touch within 3 hours, but, it takes a week for the clear coat to dry and cure, so it's going to be a while before i can really get in there with a steam cleaner.
... and yes, those are 2 40A fueses on my amp

I tore apart my wires and cleaned them up today.... i had to take a picture when it looked like this.

Honest oppinions people?

The monitor tilts for better viewing BTW...

I just purchased my AV IN/OUT today. I need to hook up the switch panel and I/O ports on the bottom of this unit now. Once I've got that completed, I'll rewire my head unit so that different things can be displayed on different monitors.
Give me some input people. I'd really appreciate it come show time.
