DTN, stop misleading the members here, you do NOT need ANY double sided tape for these at all. I've got the DIY up for them, and they are easy to install, NO TAPE REQUIRED WHATSOEVER.

The rest of you, READ the thread before you ask questions.

If you don't use the poster tape, the gauge faces have a nasty habit of rubbing on the needles. This is the reason alot of people have problems. When you don't use any tape, you have to find a happy medium between the needle being about to fall off and secure enough without touching the gauge faces. I've put about 10 sets on RDs, trust me.

It is possible to install without. It looks the same without, but the gauge faces don't set perfectly against the stockers. Also, with the double sided tape, you can make the RD-1 indicators line up to the point where the worst one is still 90% visible.

Hyundai uses double sided tape to put their gauges on.

^^^
1. I've had my AOS Gauges in my car for what, 3 years now, and no, they didn't need any tape. They do NOT rub on the needles, they do NOT cause any problems whatsoever with my needles or gauges.

2. While YES< you can use these as OVERLAYS if you want, that is RETARDED. Why would you keep the stock gauge faces under there? TAKE THEM OFF and mount these like the stockers. No problems at all.

3. I won't trust you with it, I doubt you've done 10 sets of AOS gauge faces, but I know you've done plenty of the ebay cheapos, and you are obviously using them as overlays. There is no reason to keep the stock gauge face there.

4. If you take off the STOCK gauge faces, the adhesive (hasn't been double sided tape on either of the gauge clusters I've used), will stick your gauge faces against the frame of the cluster just fine.

So, for the last time, NO TAPE IS NEEDED WHATSOEVER TO USE THESE GAUGE FACES. Of course you CAN if you want, but it's pointless.

IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE THESE ON A RD1 INSTEAD OF WAITING FOR THE PRODUCTION RUN TO BE DONE FOR THE RD1, YOU SHOULD BUY A RD2 GAUGE CLUSTER AND SWAP TO IT, INSTEAD OF TRYING TO JERRYRIG STUFF IN A 1/2 ASSED WAY.

Okay, I expect to see no more in my thread about tape and RD1 "almost" working shit.

i read the damn thread, and was asking how much for BlisagaXx's gauges; thx for the pointless warning...

edit: sorry if this is OT u told me not to pm u back, i would have...

It wasn't a pointless warning, as if you were asking HIM for the cost of HIS gauge faces, THAT is OFF TOPIC. This isn't a FOR SALE thread for BlizzagaXXX's Gauge Faces.

they dont look bad at all. with what i wanted to do it came out to 170.. my bros super vision II lasted no more then a year and a half..02.gif but i am not sure yet i just better get the car running first LOL

How the hell did you get it up to $170? Wow. That's a lot, Mine came out to like 85 bucks for my model.

On another note, are all 3 gauge faces different from the RD1 to RD2, or is it just the RIGHT one, LEFT one, or both outer ones? If it's just one or 2, we can probably get the RD1 set done for WAY cheaper.

^^ About 1/2 of my gauges have been AOS from when they were eliminating the AOS stockage. These gauges are designed to be overlays. If you remove the origonal gauges, it creates a large gap between the faces and where the needle gets it's light. I drove like that for about 1 hour. These are the AOS directions you posted from the DIY thread http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/RED...NGGaugeFace.jpg

Thanks for posting the DIY dude, I'm not a moron, I know all about it, I SCANNED IT AND POSTED IT.

The only part that is "DESIGNED" as an overlay is the center hole, because some folks are so scared of taking off their needles.

One thing DTN didn't say, is if you leave the stock gauges under it, you have a nasty ring of a different color near theneedles.

I've driven with mine as REPLACEMENTS for 3 years now, and there are no issues at all. Looks great.

Now, your points are up, and if folks want to use them as overlays, they can, or they can use them as replacements and have no issues at all.

Quit filling this thread up with BS that everyone already knows. Last warning.

So is there any more news about this? I went to Speedhut's site, and gauge faces for our cars are not even listed as being in production or even development. This will be the finishing touch on my blue backlighting conversion project and I'm kind of anxious...

They won't be listed on the development page, as they are already developed. I'm giving him the time he told me, 1 month, then I will start buggin.

No worries, they are comin back...

Good, thank you, because the inside of my car looks weird with everything being backlit in blue except for the gauges being white. Actually, it's getting annoying... lol.

I will keep checking back on the SpeedHut site anxiously awaiting the day they list them for sale.

Okay... I think it's been a month... This is the only thing I'm lacking in my blue backlighting transformation.

Any word?
