anyone ever hear of...
Yea well I'm leary about it now too because I'm looking for a new amp NOW because I got SCREWED last time through e-bay when I bought an amp that just said 1600 watts and it wound up being 4x400 max output amp which isn't making my subs hit very hard at all. So basically I'm trying to correct a screw up and I'll use the other amp for my pioneer 4-ways smile.gif

here ya go man. you still might want more power than this, but i dont think you're looking to spend a lot of money.

my friend has a couple of those amps, granted they are running his speakers, but they would power your subs alright. I'm actually really impressed with the brand. so if your willing to up the money, maybe look at more power acoustik stuff. this one is 220w rms per channel (2 channels). wouldnt power your subs completely, but itd prob be alot better then what you have. probably wouldnt be half bad, theyd still hit hard. if you want all the power, just search around. theres cheap good stuff

well your first step would be to look into what RMS the subs are. To give them all they can take you want to look for an amp with an rms of either the same or slightly more (per channel though). Or if you wanted you could get way more, but theres really no need to do that. if you cant find the rms of your subs im guessing their around 300. so the 220 of that power acoustik amp really wouldnt be that bad man, a lot of peoples subs are underpowered. what kind of subs are they? thatd help to know.

hehe something i know something about! First you do need to find out what the RMS is. 2nd go w/ a boss, audiobahn, soundstorm or phonix digital amp off ebay (get one b/w 1200 and 1400 watts). best ive seen on there for the prices. next is your definatly going to want a cap or your lights are gunna be dimming when fully powering the subs.
PS Brand are the subs? dont want some cheap brand that says 600 max to blow at 400 or lower or you'll throw away your money.

Ive been asking the brand for awhile. come on man, what are they? haha.
oh and thats why i wanted to know his RMS, so they dont blow at like 200. you can get some pretty cheap subs places that have a max of way higher than what they can take
Well...basically they're cheap subs. The brand is Cuspid, and I've been looking around and there's nothing but bad reviews on them. Apparently, I'm going to need new subs now too hahaha. It doesn't say the RMS on the subs or the box, nothing came with paperwork, and I just feel violated all over...lol

might wanna get a second opinion on this, but personally, id go with that power acoustik amp i linked up there. price aint that bad, and itll power them to hit decently hard(really depends on the subs), yet at the same time wont put out a tremendous amount of power to blow them. If you've heard they arent so good, i wouldnt risk it. otherwise i like boss audio a lot, i actually have one in my car. but they are more expensive, and that pa would be a safe play
I found SOME specs on the subwoofers, I don't know if this helps in any way determining the RMS or what they can handle:
30oz magnet with Vented Structure
1.5" High Temp K.S Voice Coil
12" Cone Woofers
Black Foam Edge (whatever that has to do with it???)
600 watts max power (per sub)
Impedance 4 OHM

Id still stick with an amp in the 200-300 rms range to be safe. def no higher than 500, and 400 is probably risky. I dont know any of that for sure, but cheap subs tend to blow easily. Also, a 30 oz. magnet is pretty small. my 6x9s are 40 oz if that says anything... haha.
